1. I want to change the match type of some keywords. How can I do that?
Match type cannot be modified once they've been added. You need to pause the keyword and re-add it to your ad group with the right match type selected to update your match type.
2. Why can't I create a Campaign?
If you are trying to create a campaign, but your app does not appear or you do not see a Create Campaign button, it may be because:
A. Your Apple ID is not associated with the app's App Store Connect account or the App Store Connect account has not been linked to Apple Search Ads Advanced.
You must be assigned as the App Store Connect Legal Account Holder, App Manager, Admin, or Marketing role to link to an Apple Search Ads Advanced account.
If your Apple ID has the appropriate role in place, please follow the steps below to link the accounts:
Sign in to your Apple account to the Campaigns dashboard.
Click on the arrow in the upper left next to the Accounts Name.
Click Settings.
Link your Apple Search Ads Advanced account to your App Store Connect accounts.
Clear your web browser cache and sign in again.
B. Your app is new to the App Store
It might takes up to 24 hours for your app to appear when you create a campaign.
C. Your app cannot be promoted with Apple Search Ads
You might violated Apple Search Ads Advertising Content Policies.
It’s also possible that your app is not compliant with App Store Review Guidelines.
Please review the policies; if you have any further questions, please contact the Apple team.
D. Your app name contains a special character
If your app name contains an accented letter or another unique character, make sure to include it consistently to ensure your app name appears in the Campaign Creation flow.
Learn more about special characters and symbols.
And there you have it!
3. How should I read charts?
A simple insight on Ads Manager chart views
Our charts are visible to our users on all levels on the Ads Manager page. Regardless of where you are on the dashboard you will always be able to view the selected values in the charts for the below dimensions:
Accounts
Apps
Campaigns
Ad Groups
Keywords
Search Terms
Ad Creatives
PS: Please note that the selected date on the right corner and any filters you have applied will affect the values appeared on the chart.
If you want to compare several certain values, you can display them by selecting 2-4 metrics from the drop-down menu. All of the metrics listed on the chart menu are values visible on the table columns.
You can also select granularity by daily, weekly or monthly. Please note that the selected granularity will be available in accordance with the time frame you have chosen.
PS: If you have chosen a period of time smaller than the granularity, the data shown will not be displayed in the granularity you have selected. Ex: If you chose 7 days data, but selected monthly granularity, the data shown will not be monthly but only 7 days.
You can also select the way you want to visualize your data depending on your needs with:
Line Chart
Area Chart
Column Chart
4. When advertising for the same product in different countries (regions), should we create different campaigans for different countries (regions) or just create one campaigan?
All can be. In an area with a high potential flow, such as the United States, Japan, etc., it is suggested to create Campaigns respectively. Create a campaign for areas with low potential flow, such as countries in the Middle East.
5. How can I tweak the metadata of apps that are already on the App Store, like screenshots or videos?
App's screenshots, videos and other metadata can only be tweaked in the ITC background when the App is updated.
6. Can I restore the Campaign after deleting it?
No, deleting campaign is a permanent operation. Once deleted, Campaign cannot be restored or modified.
7. When the natural ranking of the App under an organic keyword is already TOP1, do I need to advertise this keyword?
It is recommended to advertise. Because if you don't advertise, there will be other competitors to snatch the flow of these keywords. When the advertising space displays other products, your ranking will naturally drop to second place in the actual display. So, the purpose of advertising your brand words is flow defense and protection.
8. I want to change my Mobile Measurement Partner. What should I do?
Switching Between Different MMPs
When you decide to switch between MMPs, the first thing you should consider is that your old data in the platform will be deleted. We will collect data from scratch when you connect to a new MMP.
With this in mind, if you are willing to change your MMP, you should follow these steps:
A. First, you need to remove the integration from the dashboard of the already existing MMP so that we do not receive the events from the old MMP anymore.
B. After you have finished this step, you can let us know and we will remove all historical data associated with the old MMP. We will inform you when this step is complete.
C. After getting the AppAds team's approval, you can use the relevant Help Center article to integrate your new MMP
D. You are all ready to go and if there are no problems with the integration, we will receive the events.
The last significant thing to mention is: to be able to perform goal-based optimization, you will need to wait at least 2 weeks for the MMP data to mature.
Hope this helps you! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
9. What should I add as my Goal?
It is up to your needs, KPIs, and Apple Search Ads metrics.
For instance, the KPI for an e-commerce app could be in this funnel: signup events, first trials, credit card ads, and purchases. Once the goals are successfully created, you can track each goal on the Ads Manager page.
10. Do I have to create Goals?
Insight into the importance of Goal creation
No, you don't have to set goals. However, to get real value out of the app, you need to track how much you put into specific keywords and the ROAS%.
That's why we suggest you create goals for your app and track the goals you choose.
In addition, tracking ROAS, creating goals will also allow you to create automation based on your goals in order to take automated actions when storage dynamics change.
Important: If you do not integrate with any MMP partners or custom solutions, you will not be able to create goals. Please see our Partner Integration post for a detailed explanation.
11. Can I export data?
On AppAds, you can easily export data for each level!
To export data;
A. Select the values to be exported
B . Click on download
C. Select "Download Data" from the drop-down menu
D. The pop-up option will tell you the selection to export and the type of export (Daily or Aggregated)
Once you've made your selections, click Export and, done!
12. FAQ on Partner Integrations
1- What is Mobile Measurement Provider (MMP)?
MMP counts the number of app downloads and tracks the events that happen after the app is installed. To monitor the performance of your campaigns, you will need a solution to track your events after installation. For this purpose, you can either build your solution in-house or use MMP.
2 - How do I integrate my MMP to my AppAds account?
The integration with each MMP is different. Please check our post on each MMP integration.
3 - I have finished my integration, when will I be able to see the events within my app?
You will be able to track events within your app once your first event is accessed after your integration is completed successfully. This can take up to 48 hours. If we do not receive your events within 48 hours, we will notify you.
4 - Where can I check the status of my integration?
You can check the status of your events on the Attribution page.
For more details about event integration status, see our post.Integration Status Terms
5 - How can I find the events that my MMP sends?
You can find the event details on the Attribution page under the app name.
6 - My event was entered successfully, however,I cannot see my indicator on the Ads Manager page. How can I see them?
You will need to set goals to display them on the Ads Manager page when your first event appears.
7 - I only received my install events and not in-app events, what should I do?
Most likely, there is some problem with your app's integration with MMP. Please contact us.
8 - I have completed my integration and after 48 hours have passed, I still haven't seen my events on AppAds. But I see events on MMP, what should I do?
There could be three different reasons for this problem, please check our post Integration Status Terms
9 - I have completed my integration successfully, but I can't see my MMP data before the integration date.
MMP only provides data after the integration is completed. The data from your previous integration will not be displayed unless your historical data/previous data is imported into AppAds.
For that, you need to export the historical data.
10 - Why is there a difference between MMP and AppAds data?
One of the major reasons for the differences between AppAds and MMP is that they use different methods to attribute internal events of the app.
When you inspect the MMP dashboard for a selected time period, then you will see values that are based on the time of the event itself. For Appads, you will see values based on the time of installation.
Therefore, when you inspect the same selected time period on both the MMP and AppAds dashboards, you may see a difference in the data.
The difference occurs because when MMP sends an event to AppAds, a check is made for the installation time of the event and we attribute that event to the installation time because AppAds uses a funnel view.
13. Why I cannot see my previous Attribution Data?
The event flow of data between Appads and the Attribution tool is only started after both parties have correctly completed the integration setup. This is why attribution data is only visible after successful integration.
